Should we try to go in and out at a window? Should we talk to the builders and try to get them to change their minds? Or, should we kick the door down?

My decade long exposure to coC people and ministry has convinced me that the folks who are really getting things done in the kingdom are done with the lame, tired, discussions with those who keep locking the doors. Why bother, there is work to do!

People locked the doors because the people inside the church are the same... I understand that we are the one giving values to them because we are the model and examples to follow... the word of God is powerful if it seen in our life working and visible for we are the walking bible. Many people knows about the church and bible studies but what they dont know about is How we live faithfully to God. Im interested in this topic for i know i needed this in our church. Tnx jim for the post

Yes, I've been locked inside many times ... as the preaching minister. Very frustrating.

Allan-- I think many ministers have seen these locked doors for a variety of reasons. It would be interesting to know what doors are locked in a church and why they are locked.

Thanks very much Les. I think you are right regarding the ministry of helping to unlock some of these doors.

Even as a minister I have felt the locked doors. Many relationship circles established long ago don't want any intruders. In fact I have been told not to visit certain people in the hospital because they didn't want the preacher or elders there.

Great thoughts--we do an awful amount of deliberate door locking at times!

And, some of us could have a wonderful ministry just learning how to help folks unlock some doors!
