I’m Grateful

I feel very grateful today:

Thanks_1I’m grateful to have been able to visit a number of churches while I was out in July.  Usually, I will try to visit a few Churches of Christ as well as some from other fellowships.  I (we) visited 4th Street in Franklin, Tn. (Joe Beam and Ken Young and Hallel), Farmers Branch, Killian, Ala.,  The Church Under the Bridge (Waco) and a church in Pigeon Forge, Tn.  I found myself looking for things to be encouraged by in each assembly.  (It is rare when I am able to visit other Sunday morning assemblies).  I especially enjoyed the church in Franklin.  I went to the 8:00 service.  It felt informal but obviously well thought through.  I left thinking, "I would like to come back to this church!"  I left feeling that I had been with God.

I’m grateful that Charlotte, Christine, and I could spend a few fun days in Gatlinberg, Tn.  (Jamie was a counselor at Camp Iron Springs that week).  We all have very good memories of fun in Gatlinberg when the girls were little.

I’m grateful to be with good friends in Florence (Ala.).  We spent some time with these wonderful friends while in Florence a few weeks ago.  They were such a blessing (and a big help) to us and Keith and Carole (Charlotte’s sister and her husband) when Charlotte’s mom had her stroke.

I’m thankful for the church in Waco.  I am blessed to have a church who has supported my being away in July for 13 years.
