This Saturday evening, Jamie and I will be speaking at the Central Texas Fatherhood Inititive annual Father-Daughter "Tea and Ball" (Waco). This is a very nice occasion for daughters and their dads in our area. After the dinner, Jamie and I both will be speak. (Jamie is a freshman at Oklahoma Christian University). She will make some comments regarding what girls need from their Dad’s. She did something similar to this in a Wednesday PM men’s class several years ago

This morning in our Sunday AM adult class, we looked at Isa. 55:10-11. (This is a very good class that Charlotte and I go together. I’m not teaching it…) Note verse 11:
…so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
it will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Now that is an encouraging Scripture. This is a reminder that God is at work through his word.
You may not think that conversation over a cup of coffee mattered.
You may not think that 4th grade class you taught mattered.
You may not think that sermon you preached this morning mattered.
The truth is that God is sovereign and is at work in powerful ways that go way beyond our awareness.

Came across the funniest video via Scot McKnight’s blog. This video features Brian Collins who is suddenly put in the position of doing the sports for Ball State University’s campus television station. As he begins the broadcast, he soon finds that he is just incapable of doing this. This is funny.
Listen for when he finally says, "Boom goes the dynamite!"
I sure would like to hear Jamie’s comments about what girls need from their father’s!
I couldn’t get the video to come up….
